You can find and register for all our events through the Vision Resource Center.

The Faculty Teaching Learning Committee evaluates faculty requests for Senate professional development funds. Funded requests have included conference registration and travel, individual research projects, and group trainings. To submit your own request, fill out our faculty funding request form. Please note that requests must be received and approved before the event or activity occurs.

On-campus events conducted during contract hours are generally not paid. Off-contract events, such as Saturday Sessions or summer trainings, usually are. Compensation is calculated according to negotiated rates, and requires confirmation of attendance (signed form or verified online presence). Check with your dean and/or designated Human Resources representative to confirm.

Please visit our Distance Education certification page for full details on this.

For the most recent course approval process, click to view or download the Course Development Process Guidelines.

YouTube offers a fairly robust auto-captioning feature, although captions need to be edited manually to ensure correct punctuation and transcription. YouTube does allow you to upload a transcript file, which is very helpful if you created your video based on a script. Amara.org. is a free service that offers the ability to caption public videos that you don't own on YouTube. If you need help with captioning a video, please contact Jeremy Wyatt, IVC's Access Tech/Alternative Media Specialist at Jeremy.wyatt ((at)) imperial.edu, by phone at 760-355-6406, or via Microsoft Teams.

We are currently working on developing faculty experts/liaisons for various areas of campus. If you'd like to volunteer or recommend someone, please get in touch!
