At Imperial Valley College (IVC), we are committed to providing students with opportunities
to gain valuable work experience while supporting their education. Whether through
the Federal Work-Study (FWS) program or other on-campus employment options, IVC connects
students with part-time jobs that offer flexibility and professional growth.
Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program
The Federal Work-Study program offers part-time employment for students with financial
need. Through this program, students can work on campus or with approved off-campus
employers while earning wages to help cover educational expenses.
Key Highlights:
Eligibility: Students must complete the financial aid process and qualify for FWS before applying
for jobs.
Funding: A combination of federal government and employer funds supports this program.
Monthly Pay: Wages are paid monthly through Imperial Valley College.
Need-Based: Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year.
Eligibility Requirements:
Submit FAFSA with IVC code (001214).
Complete the financial aid file and be awarded Work-Study.
Register for at least 6 units at IVC.
Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).

Submit the Student Employment Application.

Work Conditions
As a Federal Work-Study student, you can work up to 15 hours per week. Breaks are
provided based on scheduled hours, and work cannot be conducted during class times,
exams, holidays, or weekends without prior approval.
