Diversity in Recruitment 

Imperial Valley College is dedicated to ensuring that its recruitment processes reflect the diversity of our community. We also maintain open applicant pools for part-time faculty and other temporary positions, ensuring that we have access to a diverse group of potential hires.

  • Structured Interviews: All interviews follow a pre-approved format with specific, relevant questions to maintain consistency and fairness. 
  • Diversity in Hiring Committees: Hiring committees are intentionally diverse and include members trained in DEI principles. 
  • Reasonable Accommodations: We provide reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities and offer flexible interview options, including virtual interviews. 

Support for Underrepresented Groups 

IVC’s recruitment process is designed to ensure that underrepresented groups are not only considered but prioritized. To further support our commitment to diversity: 

  • Travel Reimbursement: Candidates facing financial barriers are eligible for travel reimbursements to attend interviews. 
  • Accessibility: We ensure accessibility by providing alternative formats of job postings, offering accommodations for applicants with disabilities, and conducting interviews through accessible platforms (e.g., Zoom).
