If you would like to see if a law enforcement career is for you, or if you need a refresher, then the entry-level (P.O.S.T.) Peace Officer Standards & Training PC 832, Arrest & Control (AJ 141), Course is for you.

Completion of this course will provide you with a certificate from the state of California. The class will meet 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Thursdays - Sundays from January 9, 2025 - January 23, 2025.

Please note that applicants can not have any felony convictions and must pass a background screening.

PC 832 (AJ 141) ARREST & FIREARMS ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: After you are registered as a student with Imperial Valley College, you must fill out the online PC 832 Application when it opens and submit all documents listed below. You will also need the following:

• Request for Live Scan Services Form. You will fill out and take with you to the livescan operator of your choice. You will then get a Clearance Letter mailed to you from the Department of Justice that will need to be uploaded to the online application. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS UNTIL AFTER THE APPLICATION IS OPEN.
• Medical Examination Form. This must be filled out and signed by your physician and then uploaded to the online application.
