Health and Public Safety can be an exciting career whether you chose to be a nurse, medical assistant, firefighter, police officer, EMT, paramedic, or correctional officer. Where your interest lies, the Health & Public Safety Division offers the degrees and certificate programs that you need to get you there.
Currently, Imperial Valley College offers an Associate's Degree and Certificates of Achievement in Administration of Justice, Correctional Science, and Fire Technology, as well as the California State Fire Training, approved Fire Academy (Firefighter I), and POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training), Police Academy, STC (Standard and Training for Corrections) Corrections Academy.
The Mission of the Health & Public Safety Division is to provide a well-rounded educational experience for those that want to work in a hospital, a nursing setting, a pharmacy, a clinic, or with a concentration in the domains of the Public Safety community.
